Bill Ireland has resigned as a director and chief executive of Logan Energy, prompting speculation about the company’s leadership.
Mr Ireland has been with the East Lothian based provider of hydrogen fuel solutions since 2008, joining the board in 2010 and becoming CEO in 2012.
He resigned as a director at the end of June and left his post as CEO on Friday without explanation. A source at the company could not say why he left but it is understood he will be replaced.
He remains active in an Edinburgh scientific and technical consulting company called Hyperbolix.
Logan Energy has built a presence in a number of overseas markets and is chaired by Thomas Burley who joined the business in May last year. He replaced Ian Marchant, former chief executive of Perth-based utility SSE.
Last August Logan Energy tied up its biggest ever deal to provide equipment for a fleet of zero emission buses in the Czech Republic.
The company, which has its manufacturing facilities in Wallyford and a facility at Heriot Watt University, said it hoped the contract with ?EZ ESCO would be the first of many.
