Clarke joins Wbg following Higgins appointment – Daily Business

Wbg, the Scottish accountancy firm, has appointed Garry Clarke, as chief financial officer following the recent arrival of former Tesco Bank boss Benny Higgins as chairman.

Mr Clarke, a chartered accountant, was finance director & chief operating officer at Localist (formerly known as Enterprise Foods).

Previous roles include financial controller at Hewden, finance director at Clyde Union SPX, and group financial controller at Clyde Blowers Capital.

Allan Dowie, CEO, said Mr Clarke’s “wealth of experience and expertise across private equity and service businesses will prove invaluable to helping the firm realise its growth targets over the years ahead.”

Mr Clarke takes over from Yvonne Kemp, who will support Wbg shareholder N4 Partners across a number of its investments.

Wbg has 190 employees operating across a six-strong office network with a fee income of £14 million serving over 10,000 clients, 70% of which are based in Scotland, the remainder of which are based in the rest of the UK.

It aims to grow its fee income to £30m in three years and £50m in five years to achieve a ranking in the top 30 UK full-service professional services firms.
