Former Hamley’s executive Alasdair Dunn has joined Loch Lomond Brewery as a non-executive director to help diversify and grow the business.
Mr Dunn held senior executive and advisory roles across consumer, retail, technology, and health sectors.
As CFO and deputy CEO, he was instrumental in Hamleys’ transformation from a single UK store to a global retail brand trading across 20 countries. Since then, he has supported a range of businesses as chairman, non-executive director, and fractional CFO.
His appointment comes at a pivotal time for the business. In addition to Loch Lomond Brewery’s continued success in craft brewing, the company is advancing its position in the premium spirits market through its range of spirt brands including West Highland Spirits gin and vodka, Cu Mara rum and Levenbank Distillery whisky.
As part of that journey, Levenbank has launched a single malt cask sales and equity programme aimed at supporting long-term growth which is a model Mr Dunn is well placed to help guide, drawing on his background in scaling high-potential consumer brands.
“Alasdair’s experience in scaling businesses and guiding strategic growth is exactly what Loch Lomond Brewery needs as we enter the next phase of our business journey,” said Fiona MacEachern, managing director at Loch Lomond Brewery.
“His insights and leadership will be invaluable as we expand our footprint in the brewing industry and grow our spirits brands and single malt cask sales.”
Founded in 2011 from a family kitchen near Loch Lomond, the brewery now operates from a 12,000 sq ft facility near Dumbarton, complete with a 35hl brewhouse and in-house canning line. It has recently expanded into spirits production.
